Description For Platform Engineer

Raft (https://TeamRaft.com) is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join their passionate team of high-impact problem solvers. This U.S.-based position requires U.S. citizenship and all work must be conducted within the continental U.S.

The ideal candidate possesses fundamental experience working with hybrid infrastructure developer platforms, hands-on experience deploying Kubernetes, and automating platform management. They should be progressing in developing platform APIs and have experience hosting containerized applications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing production software using modern languages (Java, Python, Go, NodeJS, etc.)
  • Working with containerized services deployed on orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
  • Building developer platform services and APIs that scale in production
  • Utilizing Cloud Infrastructure Providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Managing and facilitating certification of access for in-scope resources

Responsibilities For Platform Engineer

  • Develop production software using modern languages

  • Work closely with senior members and advance mentoring capabilities

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant hands-on experience
  • Experience developing production software leveraging modern languages (including: Java, Python, Go, NodeJS, etc.)
  • Experience developing containerized services deployed in production on orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Mesos, Swarm, etc.
  • In-depth experience with agile and lean software development philosophies
  • Demonstrated experience with modern version control systems such as Git, Subversion, Mercurial, etc.
  • Experience building developer platform services and APIs that scale in production
  • Experience building production services using Cloud Infrastructure Providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience in Identity and Access Lifecycle Management Operations and Controls
  • Resume demonstrates deep understanding of modern microservices architectures, design patterns, resiliency techniques, and optimizations
  • Bachelor Degree in computer science, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree; or equivalent industry experience
  • Ability to obtain a Security+ within the first 90 days of employment with Raft
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
