Principal Platform Engineer

Raft (https://TeamRaft.com) is seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to join their passionate team of high-impact problem solvers. This role requires senior software engineering experience in building and operating hybrid-infrastructure developer platforms at an Individual Contributor Level. The ideal candidate should have experience deploying Kubernetes in multiple ways, supporting automation of platform management at the enterprise scale, and developing platform APIs for scalable and repeatable software operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing guidance for design and architecture of Kubernetes clusters at massive scale
• Implementing rapid proof of concepts and pilots of new capabilities
• Working closely with clients and stakeholders to provide strategic input
• Maintaining production-grade Kubernetes clusters
• Building production services with cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS)
• Developing APIs and platform services for container services
• Provisioning and debugging complex CI/CD pipelines
• Containerizing applications using Docker and orchestrating them on managed platforms

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
• 3+ years experience with modern programming languages (Java, Python, or Go)
• Linux experience
• Experience with agile methodologies
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent
• Active Secret security clearance

The position offers a competitive salary range of $140,000 - $225,000, along with excellent benefits including healthcare coverage, 401(k) with company match, flexible PTO, and various perks. The work location is primarily at Langley AFB, VA, with up to 10% travel required.
