Description For Developer Relations

Railway is revolutionizing the way developers deploy applications by providing a seamless platform that eliminates server management complexities. As their first Developer Relations hire, you'll play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the product and its growing developer community.

The position offers a unique blend of technical expertise and community engagement, where you'll be responsible for gathering developer feedback, creating educational content, and helping shape the future of developer tools. You'll work with Railway's open-source projects, including their CLI and Nixpacks, while building and nurturing the developer ecosystem.

This role is perfect for someone who combines technical depth with excellent communication skills. You should be comfortable working with various programming languages and have a strong understanding of modern DevOps practices and cloud infrastructure. The ability to explain complex technical concepts in an accessible way is crucial.

Responsibilities For Developer Relations

  • Implement programs to gather developer feedback and communicate with users
  • Build and refine product adoption loops through content, product improvements, and community nurturing
  • Assist with Open Source initiatives including CLI, Nixpacks, and Templates
  • Craft resources to help grow the developer ecosystem
  • Set strategy as the first DevRel hire
  • Create educational content on deploying projects

Requirements For Developer Relations

  • Strong communication skills in writing and video
