This role involves designing and analyzing aerospace structures, leading teams of younger engineers, and working on projects from concept to flight. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in aerospace or space stress analysis engineering, proficiency in CAD and Finite Element Analysis programs, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze primary and secondary aerospace structures and systems
- Create and deliver Finite Element models, results, and presentations to customers
- Communicate across engineering disciplines to make program-critical decisions
- Lead, mentor, and collaborate with other engineers
- Manage schedules and tasks to meet and exceed expectations
- Develop supporting material for analysis such as finite element models and optimization trades
- Support and collaborate with program management, design, and manufacturing teams
Requirements:
- 7+ years of proven experience in aerospace or space stress analysis engineering
- Engineering degree, preferably in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- Demonstrated experience designing composite and metallic parts and assemblies
- Proficiency with FEMAP, NASTRAN, or equivalent software packages
- Experience with dynamic and thermal analysis
- Familiarity with CAD packages such as Catia or Solidworks
- Knowledge of classic hand analysis methods and laminate plate theory
- Working knowledge of aerospace materials and fabrication techniques
