Description For Senior Software Engineer, Scanning Operations

Recorded Future, the world's largest intelligence company with over $300M in sales and 1,800+ global clients, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Scanning Operations team. This role is crucial in managing and monitoring vulnerability scans for customers worldwide.

The position offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of cybersecurity and software engineering, where you'll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of vulnerability scanning operations. You'll work closely with R&D teams to implement new vulnerability detections and serve as the main point of contact for internal support teams.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of experience in automated vulnerability scanning environments, along with strong technical knowledge of security tools and protocols. You'll need excellent troubleshooting abilities and strong communication skills to interface with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineer, Scanning Operations

  • Monitor and manage vulnerability scans for existing and new lead customers
  • Verify scan results for accuracy and latest vulnerability detections
  • Serve as point of contact for customer support and stakeholders
  • Maintain and enhance scanning automation workflows
  • Troubleshoot and resolve scanning issues
  • Monitor performance and suggest improvements
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements and industry standards
  • Collaborate with R&D to integrate new vulnerability checks

Requirements For Senior Software Engineer, Scanning Operations

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in automated vulnerability scanning environments
  • Strong understanding of vulnerability scanning tools (Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, Nuclei)
  • Experience with vulnerability management and detection techniques
  • Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with scripting (Python) for automation
