Description For Lead Electrical Engineer

Red 6 is an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) technology startup leading the way in synthetic air combat training. Our primary technology, supporting our ATARS product, enables pilots to simulate the cognitive challenges of flying while accessing realistic, scalable training in dynamic outdoor environments.

As a Lead Electrical Engineer at Red 6, you will lead the development of next-generation augmented reality systems. You will oversee all aspects of the electrical hardware development lifecycle from requirements to design, test, and integration. You will be deeply involved in the development of new system architectures and derive electrical subsystem requirements from higher-level product requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Architecting, designing, developing, modifying, evaluating, and integrating electronic equipment for complex, high-performance hardware systems
  • Overseeing the entire electrical hardware development lifecycle
  • Evaluating design approaches and using data-based methods to select plan-of-record design directions
  • Analyzing electrical requirements and equipment performance
  • Selecting components and equipment based on specifications and reliability
  • Mentoring junior engineers and establishing best practices

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in high-speed memories, digital interfaces, FPGAs, SoCs, and embedded software development
  • Familiarity with standard lab equipment and military hardware qualification processes
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance

Responsibilities For Lead Electrical Engineer

  • Lead development of next-generation augmented reality systems

Requirements For Lead Electrical Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or directly related field
  • 10+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with high-speed memories such as DDR3/DDR4 and high-speed digital interfaces
  • Experience with FPGAs, SoCs, firmware, and embedded software development
  • Familiarity with standard lab equipment
  • Experience with military standards and hardware qualification processes
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance
