We're seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Design Engineer to join our team in McCarran, Nevada. This role is crucial in designing and implementing control systems for our chemical processing facility.

As an I&C Design Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing innovative solutions that ensure the safe and efficient operation of our plants. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in I&C systems for chemical processing plants. Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD and REVIT, is essential. Familiarity with industry standards (ISA, NEC, ANSI) and experience with tools like Comos or Aveva Instrumentation is highly valued.

Responsibilities For Instrumentation and Controls Design Engineer

  • Contribute to the development of I&C system designs
  • Develop detailed 'Issued for Construction Drawings' and 'As-Built Drawings'
  • Develop and maintain instrumentation installation specification
  • Review and edit P&ID, loop diagrams, and control system narratives
  • Support the controls engineering team in specification and selection of I&C devices
  • Participate in process hazard analysis, HAZOP, and LOPA
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation of instrument datasheets, specifications, and technical reports
  • Develop commissioning procedures for instrumentation systems
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technicians
  • Assist in procurement activities
  • Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams
  • Troubleshoot and resolve control system problems

Requirements For Instrumentation and Controls Design Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or appropriate alternative
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in I&C systems for chemical processing plants
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (ISA, NEC, ANSI)
