Redwood Materials, founded in 2017, is on a mission to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products. As an MES Controls Engineer at Redwood Materials, you'll play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) that drive our sustainable manufacturing processes.
Your primary responsibilities will include executing strategic projects aligned with our manufacturing strategies, leveraging your expertise in hardware and software development adhering to industry standards like ISA112, ISA95, and Industry 4.0. You'll be tasked with administering the critical Level 2 and 3 layers of our automation pyramid, working closely with IT and Controls Engineers to design and implement robust network architectures.
In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and drive requirements for MES projects. Your technical writing skills will be put to use as you author and maintain detailed design documents, system architecture diagrams, and standard operating procedures. A key aspect of your job will be seamlessly integrating MES with ERP systems, ensuring smooth data flow across our manufacturing operations.
As a senior member of the team, you'll provide technical leadership, guidance, and training to Controls Engineers, helping to elevate the entire team's capabilities. Your responsibilities will also include administering and maintaining databases and servers associated with our Automation systems.
The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in automated manufacturing environments, along with proficiency in tools like Inductive Automation's Ignition, Sepasoft MES Suite, SQL Databases, and various server environments. Strong skills in Python and SQL are essential, as is a deep understanding of industrial automation equipment and communication protocols.
