As a Power Electronics Engineer, you'll join an early-stage product design team, taking charge of developing sophisticated power converter systems. The role demands expertise in high-voltage (1,000-2,000VDC) and high-power (10-200kW) systems, combining technical prowess with practical implementation skills.

You'll be responsible for the complete lifecycle of power electronics design, from initial conception through high-volume production. The position requires deep understanding of both hard- and soft-switched topologies, ability to create precise control models, and hands-on experience with circuit board layout for high-power applications. Responsibilities For Power Electronics Engineer, New Product

  • Design, prototype, and launch high-volume production of efficient power converters
  • Create accurate time-domain control and thermal models of circuits
  • Perform critical powertrain layout design
  • Select and compare topologies, control algorithms, semiconductors, and magnetics
  • Mentor test technicians in designing tests and interpreting results
  • Work with basic EE tools like oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators
  • Select circuit components for manufacturability and electrical function
  • Perform detailed schematic capture and PCB layout

Requirements For Power Electronics Engineer, New Product

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering with focus in power electronics
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering with focus in power conversion or energy storage products
  • Experience in high-voltage (up to 2000VDC, and 480VAC) design
  • Strong understanding of power electronics topologies and fundamentals (AC/DC, DC/DC)
  • Experience with semiconductor selections, gate drive, and protection circuit design
  • Basic knowledge of control theory and embedded systems
  • Proven track record with hands-on design, prototyping, and launch experience in medium-to-high volume production
  • Proficient in Altium or related CAD software
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
