The Senior MES Controls Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) at Redwood Materials. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and strategic thinking to support the company's manufacturing strategies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and executing strategic projects aligned with Redwood's manufacturing goals
- Providing subject matter expertise in hardware and software development, adhering to ISA112, ISA95, Industry 4.0, and IIoT standards
- Managing the Level 2 and 3 layers of the automation pyramid
- Collaborating with IT and Controls Engineers on network architecture
- Partnering with cross-functional teams to drive MES project requirements
- Creating and maintaining design documents, architecture diagrams, and SOPs
- Integrating MES with ERP systems
- Providing technical leadership and training to Controls Engineers
- Administering databases and servers for Automation systems
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in automated manufacturing environments
- Proficiency with Inductive Automation's Ignition, Sepasoft MES Suite, SQL Databases, Linux and Windows Servers, OT Networks, and Industrial Switches
- Strong skills in Python and SQL
- Comprehensive understanding of Level 1 Automation equipment and industrial communication protocols
- Network troubleshooting capabilities
