As a Staff MES Controls Engineer at Redwood Materials, you'll play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading strategic projects aligned with Redwood's manufacturing strategies
- Providing expertise in hardware and software development, adhering to ISA112, ISA95, Industry 4.0, and IIoT standards
- Managing the Level 2 and 3 layers of the automation pyramid
- Collaborating with IT and Controls Engineers on network architecture
- Partnering with cross-functional teams to drive MES project requirements
- Creating and maintaining design documents, architecture diagrams, and SOPs
- Integrating MES with ERP systems
- Providing technical leadership and training to Controls Engineers
- Administering databases and servers for Automation systems
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- 12+ years of hands-on experience in automated manufacturing
- Proficiency in Inductive Automation's Ignition, Sepasoft MES Suite, SQL Databases, Linux and Windows Servers, OT Networks, and Industrial Switches
- Strong skills in Python and SQL
- Understanding of Level 1 Automation equipment (PLCs, Robot controllers, HMIs)
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and fieldbuses
- Network troubleshooting skills
- A passion for sustainability
