Description For Embedded Flight Software Engineer

REGENT Craft is revolutionizing coastal transportation with their innovative electric seagliders. As the Flight Software Lead, you'll be at the forefront of developing critical flight control systems for a vehicle that operates in multiple modes: hull-borne, hydrofoil-borne, and wing-borne. This role combines aerospace engineering with maritime technology, working on a vehicle that never flies higher than a few meters off the water, achieving twice the range of traditional electric aircraft.

The position requires expertise in embedded systems, real-time software development, and safety-critical systems. You'll be responsible for implementing flight control software, building simulation environments, and ensuring compliance with aviation safety standards (DO-178C). Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll contribute to both prototype development and production systems.

REGENT is backed by top-tier investors behind companies like SpaceX and Boom Supersonic, with nearly half a billion dollars in provisional orders. The company offers competitive benefits including healthcare, dental, and vision plans, plus bonus opportunities. This is a unique chance to join a growing team of 40 passionate professionals working to transform regional transportation with zero-emission technology.

The role is based in the Boston/Providence area, with relocation assistance available. You'll be working in a fast-paced startup environment where your contributions will directly impact the development of groundbreaking technology. The position requires 7+ years of aerospace experience and strong expertise in C/C++ embedded software development, making it ideal for a senior engineer looking to make a significant impact in sustainable transportation.
