At Relativity Space, we're on a mission to revolutionize the aerospace industry through innovative rocket design and advanced additive manufacturing. As a Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in designing and developing mechanisms for our Terran R rocket, including stage separation, payload deployment, aero control features, and landing gear.
You'll be part of the Structures team, responsible for the full product lifecycle of integrated structures and flight mechanisms. Working in our state-of-the-art factory in Long Beach, CA, you'll have the unique opportunity to validate your designs through on-site testing.
Key responsibilities include: • Conceptualizing and conducting trade studies on mechanism designs • Defining design criteria and subsystem requirements • Reviewing static and dynamic load inputs, material properties, and manufacturing processes • Integrating subsystems within our 3D-printed primary structure • Collaborating with vehicle design, test, loads, additive, and manufacturing teams
To excel in this role, you should be self-motivated, thrive in ambiguity, and have a track record of leading projects to completion in fast-paced environments. Your work will directly contribute to our goals of building the next great commercial launch company and advancing additive manufacturing innovation.
Join us in our mission to create humanity's industrial base on Mars and expand the possibilities of human experience. At Relativity Space, you'll be part of a passionate, creative community working to transform the future of aerospace technology.
