The company is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join their Innovation team, working on developing next-generation battery storage technology.

The role offers a hybrid work arrangement between home and their Melbourne CBD office. As a Senior Power Electronics Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing power electronics circuits and systems, providing technical guidance, and contributing to the company's technology roadmap. The position involves working with high-current switching circuits, thermal analysis, and fault management systems.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of industry experience in power electronics development, with expertise in circuit design, EMC compliance, and thermal systems. You'll have the opportunity to mentor others and contribute to Relectrify's intellectual property portfolio.

Responsibilities For Senior Power Electronics Engineer

  • Delivering power electronics systems meeting schedule and BOM cost targets
  • Developing power and control circuits, cooling, insulation, EMI management, control and fault management
  • Releasing design documentation
  • Prioritising and scheduling activities in power electronics development
  • Push/pulling information from the cross-functional team as required to deliver systems
  • Holding informal design reviews and resolving technical issues with input from the team

Requirements For Senior Power Electronics Engineer

  • Bachelor/Masters/PhD in electrical/electronic engineering
  • 7+ years industry experience in power electronics development >2kW and 230Vac
  • Experience in the design of high current switching circuits incl. gate drive, snubbing, current sensing
  • Highly skilled in circuit schematic/layout
  • Experience with Insulation coordination and EMC compliance
  • Experience in thermal analysis and design of cooling systems
  • Experience with fault detection, protection and management
  • Experience defining/specifying digital control and protection of power electronic circuits
  • Experience propagating technical knowledge via mentoring
