We are seeking a Project Civil Engineer for our Chicago Metropolitan region. This role focuses on designing municipal infrastructure systems, from concept to completion. The position involves leading water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects, with opportunities for advancement to Senior Engineer and Project Manager roles. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in municipal infrastructure design, with strong technical skills and relevant licensure. Responsibilities For Project Engineer
- Design of water distribution systems
- Design of wastewater collection systems
- Design of stormwater collection systems
- Design of regional stormwater detention/retention facilities
- Create record drawings
- Produce plans and specifications
- Handle permitting
- Coordinate with stakeholders (Utilities, Contractors, Property Owners)
- Prepare technical reports
- Prepare administrative project deliverables
Requirements For Project Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- Strong technical skills in water/wastewater/stormwater systems design
- Illinois F.E. licensure required
- Illinois P.E. licensure or ability to obtain within 12 months preferred
- Must be located in the Chicago Metropolitan area
- Valid IL driver's license
- Proficiency with Excel, Autodesk/Bentley CAD/Design Platforms, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, XPSWMM and ArcGIS
- Familiarity with Cook County DOTH and MWRD permitting and design criteria
- Familiarity with IDOT Standard Specs and contract quantities
