Responsibilities For Network Security Engineer, Journeyman

  • Provide application support to Network Infrastructure (Firewalls, Cisco Identity Services, Proxies)
  • Monitor network traffic for malicious activity using SIEM, Wireshark, or IDS/IPS
  • Manage health and status of assigned networking devices
  • Ensure configuration control procedures are followed
  • Document maintenance, repair and test activities
  • Perform DISA STIG compliance measures across multiple RDT&E environments

Requirements For Network Security Engineer, Journeyman

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-10 years of experience in infrastructure network engineering and network administration
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance
  • DoD 8570/5239 IAT Level II Certification (Security + CE equivalent, or greater)
  • 2 years experience with Juniper boundary devices or Juniper certification
  • 2 years experience with Cisco switching and routing or CCNA certification
  • Experience with F5 Networks BigIP
  • Experience with managing DoD PKI across network devices
  • Experience with DNS and DDoS mitigation practices
