Description For RF Engineer Intern, Ring

Ring's mission is to make neighborhoods safer by creating a Ring of Security around homes and communities with its suite of home security products and services. The Ring product line, along with the Ring Neighbors app, enable Ring to offer affordable, complete, proactive home and neighborhood security in a way no other company has before. With Ring, you're always home.

As an RF Engineer intern at Ring, you will:

  • Work closely with Hardware Engineering teams and Technology teams as well as suppliers to keep development schedules on track
  • Study IEEE standards, VNA, SA, and IQxel testing equipment
  • Assist in driving and tracking RF design readiness for Engineering builds
  • Help with RF components testing and RF performance validation
  • Assist in RF tuning and measurement to deliver qualified reports
  • Work 5 days per week during summer holiday for at least 3 months duration
  • Be based in Taipei

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in cross-functional communication within the region
  • Closely monitoring and driving activities including IEEE standard study, design data release, design validation, issue solving, and root cause analysis
  • Working with teams located in Taipei and Global engineering teams throughout the development cycle

Required qualifications:

  • Enrolled in or completed a Master's degree or above in engineering or equivalent
  • Fluent in speaking, writing, and reading Mandarin
  • Major in Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering related field

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of RF technology in consumer electronics
  • Understanding of RF components, design validation, circuit simulation, and analysis
  • Hands-on experience with RF system testing and validation process using equipment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Chinese and English
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking capability
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Willingness to take on technical challenges and responsibility
  • Previous internship experience
  • Past experience or coursework in RF design and project management
