Description For Field Application Engineer (Senior)

Rivos Inc is seeking a Senior Field Application Engineer to join their team, focusing on GPGPU and CPU chip design solutions. This role bridges the gap between customers and internal engineering teams, ensuring successful product integration and optimization. The position requires a deep technical background in hardware engineering, particularly in server and PC architecture, combined with strong customer-facing skills.

The ideal candidate will serve as the primary technical contact for customers and partners, delivering technical presentations, developing proof-of-concept solutions, and providing comprehensive support throughout the product lifecycle. With a minimum of 7 years of experience, you'll be responsible for both pre-sales and post-sales technical support, working closely with ODMs and OEMs to enable new silicon designs from NPI to mass production.

Key technical requirements include expertise in board-level interfaces, high-speed system design, and test automation. The role demands excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and collaborate with internal engineering teams. Based in HsinChu, Taiwan, this hybrid position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge GPU and CPU technologies while making a significant impact on customer success.

The position requires occasional travel for customer engagements and training sessions, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both technical challenges and customer interaction. Responsibilities For Field Application Engineer (Senior)

  • Serve as primary technical contact for customers and partners (ODMs and OEMs)
  • Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations
  • Develop proof-of-concept solutions
  • Assist customers with application deployment and training
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Work with internal engineering team
  • Create technical documents, application notes, and user guides

Requirements For Field Application Engineer (Senior)

Python
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 7+ years in technical support or application engineering role
  • Strong understanding of Server and PC architecture
  • Familiarity with board-level interfaces (UART, I2C, SPI, JTAG, DDR)
  • Knowledge of high-speed (PCIe & Ethernet) and high-power system design
  • Board-level analog and digital circuit design expertise
  • Test automation expertise using Python or similar tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel as needed
