The Security Tooling team at Robinhood is seeking a Staff Applications Engineer to ensure the reliability, scalability, and availability of critical third-party security software. This role involves planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining company security SaaS applications and tools, as well as partnering with cross-functional teams for integrations. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in the IT and/or security SaaS space, with expertise in SSO/SAML/IAM systems administration, cloud application management, and automation through scripting or coding. Key responsibilities include application administration, implementing system changes, assessing business requirements, working with cross-functional teams, providing technical support, maintaining security standards, and participating in budget recommendations. This position offers an opportunity to join the team on the ground floor and help build out the security applications' function at Robinhood, contributing to the company's mission of democratizing finance for all.

Responsibilities For Staff Applications Engineer, Security Tooling

  • Application administration, installation, configuration and upgrades of SaaS solutions in the security space
  • Implementing SaaS system changes and administering access to systems and information within approved security policies
  • Assessing business requirements, evaluating possible solutions, and implementing/recommending solutions
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams to develop scalable and reliable solutions
  • Assisting in technical support problem resolutions related to SaaS security software and/or integrations
  • Maintaining standards, procedures, security controls and documentation
  • Participating in system audits and performing testing for disaster recovery or SOX controls
  • Participating in recommending budget items and implementing/allocating resources following budget approval

Requirements For Staff Applications Engineer, Security Tooling

  • 8+ years of experience in the IT and/or security SaaS space
  • Familiarity with administration of SSO/SAML/IAM systems
  • Ability to act as a Team Lead to help set direction and standards for the Security Tooling Team
  • Ability to automate through scripting or coding to fill in reliability or scalability gaps
  • Proven experience with managing cloud applications and platforms
  • Ability to find out-of-box solutions to best fit Robinhood's needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to overcome obstacles and challenges with little to no supervision
  • Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and prioritize automation over manual processes
  • Experience working with teams across different offices and timezones
