Senior Data Migration Engineer-Octopus (5 Months Project)

Octopus by RTG is hiring for a reputable organization in the GCC, a Senior Data Migration Engineer for a 5-month project. The role requires at least 5 years of experience in data migration or related fields. Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and executing data migration strategies from legacy systems to a new platform based on PostgreSQL and Node.js
• Developing and implementing robust data migration scripts and tools
• Collaborating with stakeholders to understand data requirements and migration objectives
• Utilizing AWS services for scalable, secure, and reliable data migration
• Monitoring and troubleshooting data migration processes
• Performing data validation and quality assurance checks
• Documenting migration processes, procedures, and outcomes
• Providing post-migration support

The ideal candidate should have:

• Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL and Node.js
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration
• Extensive experience with AWS services
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database – Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
• Experience with data warehousing solutions and data lakes
• Knowledge of data security best practices and compliance standards
