RVU is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer for Tempcover, a leading short-term insurance provider. The role involves working on a greenfield project to rebuild cloud infrastructure, moving from Azure to AWS. You'll be part of an agile team providing services and tools to internal engineering teams, driving change, mentoring other engineers, and shaping the technical direction of platform engineering at Tempcover. Key responsibilities include introducing new technologies, supporting existing platforms, and playing a crucial role in modernizing systems for the next generation of technology. Responsibilities For Staff Platform Engineer - Tempcover

  • Work as part of an agile team providing services and tools to internal engineering teams
  • Suggest and drive change across the engineering team
  • Challenge and improve existing practices and systems

Requirements For Staff Platform Engineer - Tempcover

Go
  • Experience in automation using an IaC approach
  • CI/CD experience
  • DevOps and continuous improvement
  • Experience in developing or architecting secure environments and pipelines
  • Knowledge of API Gateways, DNS, and load-balancing for microservice architecture (preferably using CloudFlare)
  • Experience operating high-load consumer-facing websites
  • Site reliability engineering experience
  • Knowledge of IaaS and PaaS platforms
  • Understanding of cloud provider design principles (AWS and Azure Well-Architected frameworks)
  • Scripting and programming skills (Go and C# preferred)
  • Data-driven decision making
  • Experience in implementing platform engineering approaches
