Purpose:
The GM/HBC Manager position focuses on delivering exceptional customer service while directing and controlling the Drug (General Merchandise) Department operations. This role involves supervising and training personnel to achieve sales and profit objectives, while providing operational feedback to store leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champions customer service programs to exceed division goals
- Manages day-to-day Drug Department operations
- Implements company operating and merchandising policies
- Controls inventory and maintains stock levels
- Supervises receiving, storing, and merchandising of products
- Schedules and manages department staff
- Monitors performance and recommends personnel actions
- Resolves customer complaints and maintains positive relations
- Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Retail management experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of retail operations and procedures
- Basic math and accounting skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Computer software proficiency
- Customer service orientation
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical stamina for standing/walking long periods
- Emergency procedure implementation knowledge
