The Grocery Manager position at Safeway in Lakeside, AZ is a leadership role focused on directing and controlling the operation of the Grocery Department. The role involves:

• Leading and supervising department personnel to achieve sales and profit objectives
• Managing day-to-day operations of the Grocery department, including dairy and frozen food sections

• Ordering products and maintaining inventory levels
• Directing work schedules and training of department staff
• Managing department financials and performance metrics

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising receiving, storing, stocking, and merchandising of grocery products
• Maintaining inventory levels and controlling merchandise shrink
• Training and developing staff
• Ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards
• Managing department budgets and profit/loss statements

Requirements:

• Extensive retail background with management experience
