Senior SatCom Engineer in R&T (f/m/d)

The Senior R&T Satcom Engineer is responsible for research and development of broadband communications satellite terminals for commercial aircraft applications. Responsibilities include technology scouting and selection, requirements development, system and subsystem architecture and specification, interface design as well as test and verification from the system level down to component level.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Technology scouting and selection of potential technology providers
• Translating customer needs into system and device requirements
• Creation and maintenance of aeronautic requirement documents
• Define system architecture, sub-systems and interfaces
• Analyze, verify and test that design meets the requirements
• Participation in and management of technical projects
• Perform design reviews, both internal and for customers
• Work closely with external technology and service providers, customers, manufacturers and other stakeholders
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary engineering and program teams internally and externally
• Continuously contribute to improve established research and development processes

Requirements:

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering or related field, or equivalent working experience
• 6+ years of experience working in a similar role in Satellite or Mobile Communications Technology
• Familiarity with electronic test equipment and hands-on experience with satellite platforms
• Experience managing large, interconnected requirements sets
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Proactive, organized, and team player mindset
• Meticulous, detail-oriented, and able to efficiently resolve problems
