Salesforce, the global leader in Cloud-based (SaaS) solutions, is seeking an AI Scientist to join their Agentforce organization. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of AI innovation, specifically focusing on building, optimizing, and innovating the Agentforce planner system.
The position involves working with frontier foundational models for real-world applications, exploring innovative approaches to agent systems, and developing comprehensive testing frameworks. You'll be collaborating closely with engineering and product teams, translating research into practical solutions that drive business value.
As an AI Scientist, you'll be responsible for staying current with the latest AI developments and implementing cutting-edge solutions. The role combines technical expertise with practical application, requiring both deep AI knowledge and strong collaborative skills. You'll work on prototyping AI solutions, building demonstrations for quick validation, and productizing innovations in partnership with engineering teams.
The ideal candidate brings a strong quantitative background with at least 7 years of relevant experience, demonstrating expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and LLMs. Proficiency in the Python scientific stack and cloud infrastructure is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively across different teams.

Responsibilities For AI Scientist
- Work with product management and leadership to translate business problems into applied science problems
- Research, prototype, and build demonstrations of AI ideas for quick validation and feedback
- Design and build AI systems to hit accuracy and performance metric targets
- Productize AI innovations in collaboration with engineering teams
- Educate engineering and product teams about AI science during collaboration
- Mentor and collaborate with other members of the team
- Share technical innovations with the team and across the company
- Create innovations and contribute to conferences and/or open-source tools
Requirements For AI Scientist
- BS/MS in a quantitative discipline with 7+ years of relevant experience
- Expertise in classical machine learning, deep learning, and large-language-models (LLMs)
- Fluent in prototyping AI solutions, testing machine learning models, and wrangling small/medium sized datasets
- Proficient in using Python scientific stack (e.g. Numpy, Pandas, PyTorch, SciPy, Jupyter)
- Proficient in shell scripting, Unix/Linux command-line tools, working with cloud infrastructure (AWS)
- Great communication skills: ability to discuss with scientists, engineers, designers, and product managers
