Description For Bid Manager

Salesforce, the global leader in CRM and enterprise cloud solutions, is seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join their team. This role is pivotal in managing the company's response to public sector opportunities through formal RFx processes.

The position requires a seasoned professional with 12+ years of experience, including significant expertise in proposal development for government contracts. As a Bid Manager, you'll be responsible for orchestrating complex proposal responses, working with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, compliant submissions that align with customer requirements.

Your role will involve managing the entire bid lifecycle, from initial opportunity assessment through final submission. You'll work closely with sales, solution engineering, security, legal, and compliance teams to coordinate comprehensive responses to RFPs, RFIs, and other procurement documents. The position requires strong technical writing skills, particularly in the context of SaaS and PaaS solutions.

Key aspects of the role include developing bid strategies, maintaining content libraries, conducting post-bid reviews, and continuously improving proposal processes. You'll need to demonstrate excellent project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities For Bid Manager

  • Be a subject matter expert for public sector marketplace RFx responses and proposals
  • Manage bid and content response development for tenders, RFIs, RFPs, and other procurement documents
  • Support large-scale, complex RFx efforts with multiple cross-functional teams
  • Participate in opportunity analysis and Go/No Go decision process
  • Develop bid/response plans and schedules for all phases of the bid/proposal development
  • Handle content preparation, revision, and submission
  • Structure, write, edit, and format response content
  • Participate in developing written questions for procurement officials
  • Create proposal response policies and processes
  • Maintain RFx boilerplate content library
  • Conduct post bid After Action Reviews and lessons learned debriefs
  • Build relationships and work cross-functionally with business partners

Requirements For Bid Manager

  • 12+ years of overall experience
  • 5+ years of experience in proposal development role for government solicitations
  • 5 years of experience in technology consulting as a Technical Writer
  • Experience with technical writing for SaaS or PaaS solutions
  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience required
  • Ability to multi-task and perform in a fast-paced environment
