Description For Engineering Excellence Director, Software Engineering

As an Engineering Excellence leader (Director of Engineering), you will analyze a wide range of quality and security metrics across a number of teams. You will design and implement a strategy for teams to continuously improve our use of quality and security principles and practices. You will help teams inspect, adapt, deliver and mature. You will demonstrate your quality approach and coaching expertise to facilitate the process and partner with internal customers within the Technology organization.

Our business unit guarantees the delivery of trusted products through common services, engineering platforms, and guardrails. We standardize infrastructure and development lifecycle capabilities to make #1 AI CRM innovation easy and secure-by-default. We ensure our environments are secure with identity, data, network, and systems common controls.

Our Engineering excellence group supports our scrum teams with industry-leading technology, standard methodologies, and operational excellence. We seek a leader accountable for our software quality and trust outcomes. The leader uses an analytical approach to drive the quality processes for our entire business unit. Collaborates with engineering and product teams to reduce toil and strengthen quality outcome of the development processes. The leader defines and promotes industry standard methodologies and uses trends and early warning signs to course correct quickly.

Key goals:

  • Scale the execution of 'Engineering and Operational excellence' charter across 1000+ member organization.
  • Analyzes various quality and trust (Security) signals across 100+ scrum teams to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Enable our teams to meet our security commitments, including SLAs for vulnerability and bug remediation, to ensure known security risks are addressed quickly.
  • Collaborate with key partners and optimize development processes and systems to achieve better results.
  • Is accountable for our Cloud's Quality practices and Trust outcomes
  • Uses different levels of coaching to support our scrum teams
  • Show own impact by using metrics
  • Create, launch, and facilitate collaborative Quality Working groups

Requirements For Engineering Excellence Director, Software Engineering

Kubernetes
  • 10+ years of working experience in technology organizations
  • 2+ years of experience running large transformational programs cutting across teams
  • Good understanding of 'Information security' principles and practices
  • Hands-on experience applying Quality methodologies within many development teams
  • Excellent presentation and training skills
