Description For Network Engineering Staff

The Network Delivery team at Salesforce is seeking a passionate Network Engineering Staff member to join their dynamic, global team. This role is crucial in delivering and supporting Salesforce's infrastructure to meet substantial growth needs. The ideal candidate should be fascinated by Internet and cloud computing technologies and have a strong background in network automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, refresh, and decommission network infrastructure across multiple global Data Centers
  • Collaborate with automation teams to define scalable and safe execution tools
  • Create scripts and power-tools for automating network configuration lifecycle
  • Perform proactive network maintenance
  • Develop and update network standards
  • Work cross-functionally with various teams on implementation plans

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of IP networking experience
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting IP routing/switching technologies
  • Experience with Cisco vPC
  • Understanding of data center design and operational best practices
  • Proficiency with load balancers, especially F5 ecosystem
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a globally distributed team
  • Excellent technical documentation skills

Desired Skills:

  • Network certifications (CCNP, JNCIP, or higher)
  • Linux OS/networking familiarity
  • Scripting experience (Python, bash)
  • Experience with configuration management tools
  • Knowledge of revision control software
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
