Description For Senior Technical Support Engineer

Salesforce is seeking a Senior Technical Support Engineer in Indianapolis, IN to serve as a Trusted Advisor for enterprise customers. This role involves leading the resolution of critical technical issues, providing proactive support, and ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving conversations with customer Business Stakeholders on best practices for enterprise architecture functions
  • Solving highly visible, technical, global, and strategic enterprise cases
  • Providing proactive support through system monitoring, Splunk analysis, and recommendations to minimize service disruptions
  • Liaising with Salesforce R&D and Infrastructure teams on escalated issues and product roadmap changes
  • Participating in Signature Support project work, including developing new tools and improving processes

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, Engineering, or a related field, plus two years of relevant experience (or a Bachelor's degree with five years of experience). Expertise in tools such as App Exchange Data Loader, Force.com Explorer, Change Set, and others is required.

Responsibilities For Senior Technical Support Engineer

  • Serve as a Trusted Advisor to enterprise customers
  • Lead resolution of critical technical issues and ensure high customer satisfaction
  • Provide proactive support through system monitoring, Splunk analysis, and recommendations
  • Liaise with Salesforce R&D and Infrastructure teams on escalated issues and product changes
  • Participate in Signature Support project work, including developing new tools and improving processes
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in providing Salesforce Support
  • Drive conversations with customer Business Stakeholders on best practices for enterprise architecture
  • Solve highly visible, technical, global, and strategic enterprise cases
  • Work on pilot programs with R&D teams
  • Develop and provide additional 'white glove' support practices for incident prediction and prevention

Requirements For Senior Technical Support Engineer

Java
  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, Engineering, or related field, plus 2 years of experience; OR Bachelor's degree in the same fields plus 5 years of experience
  • Expertise in App Exchange Data Loader, Force.com Explorer, Change Set, Force.com Excel Connector, Force.com IDE, Workbench, SOQL Explorer, Force.com Migration Tool (ANT), Github, Jenkins
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture functions such as Security, Performance, Development Process, Release Management, and Application Governance
  • Excellent problem-solving skills for resolving critical technical issues
  • Ability to work with R&D and Infrastructure teams on escalated issues and product roadmap changes
  • Experience with proactive support techniques, including system monitoring and Splunk analysis
  • Strong communication skills to interact with Business Stakeholders and provide recommendations
