Description For Software Engineering SMTS

Join Salesforce's Content Experience (CX) group as a Senior Member of Technical Staff on the Content Platform scrum team. This role focuses on developing enterprise-class tools, services, and infrastructure that enable Salesforce content producers to create engaging learning experiences. You'll be working with the technical arm of the CX group, responsible for the authoring and maintenance of world-class product knowledge information.

The position offers a unique blend of working for an established company while maintaining individual growth opportunities. You'll be involved in architecting, building, testing, and maintaining infrastructure using various technologies, with a focus on DevOps and backend development. The role requires expertise in Python or Java, strong understanding of CI/CD practices, and experience with monitoring tools.

As a key engineering partner, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, and technical program managers. The team is responsible for delivering content at scale, managing everything from help topics to API references and Trailhead courses. You'll work in an agile environment, participating in on-call rotations to ensure high availability of services.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $157,600 to $236,500, depending on location (California or Washington).   • 5+ years of proven software development experience with Python or Java
  • A related technical degree required
  • Extensive knowledge of data structures, algorithms, computer science fundamentals, design patterns, and object-oriented programming
  • Understanding of software engineering best practices including code standards, reviews, SCM, CI/CD, build processes, and testing
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment
  • Experience with monitoring, alerting, and logging tools
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Agile/Scrum/Lean development methodology experience
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced technical environment
  • Able to execute with globally distributed teams
