Summer 2025 Intern - Applied Scientist

Salesforce, the global leader in Cloud-based (SaaS) solutions, is seeking an Applied Scientist Intern to join their Einstein GPT Data Science Team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI technologies and LLM development.

The position involves working on foundational LLMs, platform services tooling, and delivering data science solutions for CRM Generative AI Applications. You'll be tackling fascinating challenges in LLM fine-tuning, evaluations and metrics, retrieval augmented generation technologies, feedback-based learning, parameter efficient fine-tuning optimizations, reinforcement learning, LLM alignment, bias mitigation, and multilingual support.

As an intern, you'll be part of a dynamic team that values innovation and knowledge sharing. You'll have the opportunity to work with product management and leadership, translate business problems into applied science solutions, and contribute to the development of AI systems that meet specific accuracy and performance targets.

The ideal candidate should be pursuing an MS/PhD in a quantitative discipline and possess strong expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and LLMs. You should be comfortable with the Python scientific stack and have excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with scientists, engineers, designers, and product managers.
