Description For Director, Software Engineering

Samsara is seeking an experienced engineering director to lead their growing Fleet Safety team in the UK. As part of the recently public company, you'll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term. The role involves leading and inspiring a team of full-stack developers to build end-to-end solutions for Samsara's Fleet Safety products, which use real-time computer vision and sensor data to detect and alert drivers and safety managers of dangerous conditions.

You'll be responsible for driving the vision, roadmap, and priorities for the team, continuing to scale Samsara's engineering team in EMEA, and ensuring high technical standards. The role requires mentoring and growing engineering managers and staff/senior engineers, as well as championing Samsara's cultural principles.

The ideal candidate should have 10+ years of industry experience in software engineering/development, 7+ years of engineering management experience, and experience managing managers and teams of 30+ engineers. You should have a track record of building and leading high-performing software teams, a customer-focused mindset, and strong product sense.
