Description For Lead Cloud Engineer

Samsung Research America is seeking a passionate and collaborative Lead Cloud Engineer to join their Health team in Mountain View, CA. As a Lead Cloud Engineer, you will work with an experienced, entrepreneurial team to develop superior digital health products for wearable and mobile devices. You'll be responsible for architecting, designing, and building a high-performance, cost-effective server cloud platform. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and develop new products from concept to mass production. You'll lead the design and architecture of a scalable cloud service platform, guide performance optimization, and ensure the system is competitive in cost, performance, and reliability. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the next generation of mobile and wearable health product experiences, leveraging Samsung's unique advantage in consumer electronics and growing focus on Digital Health and AI/Gen AI. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud engineering, with experience in microservices, distributed systems, and various cloud technologies. Responsibilities For Lead Cloud Engineer

  • Lead the design and architect a scalable cloud service platform supporting various health products
  • Guide performance optimization, cost control, modular implementation, and ensure system competitiveness
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to define, design and develop new products from concept to mass production
  • Identify and champion development of differentiated new technologies and contribute to the product & technology roadmap

Requirements For Lead Cloud Engineer

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 10+ years' experience in Software Development and System Design/Architect roles
  • Proven experience in Software Development & Architecture in multitenancy, microservice, multithreading, and scalable database
  • Proven experience with event-driven architecture in a Microservices environment
  • Strong knowledge and experience implementing REST APIs and highly scalable systems
  • Experience in building real distributed big data production systems using Java/Kubernetes/Docker
  • Hands-on experience in AWS
  • Experience in Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience in multiple programming languages: Java/Scala/Python
  • Good communication/presentation skill and teamwork spirit
