Saronic Technologies, a pioneer in defense autonomy at sea, is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join their Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team. This role is crucial for supporting fast-growing operations across all Saronic facilities in North America. The position involves managing environmental compliance programs, ensuring regulatory adherence, and implementing initiatives to reduce environmental impact.

The ideal candidate will lead various environmental management programs including air quality, water quality, and hazardous waste management. They will be responsible for developing and implementing critical environmental programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and promoting a culture of operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include managing environmental compliance programs, preparing regulatory reports, overseeing pollution prevention initiatives, and providing environmental training to employees. The role requires strong analytical skills, expertise in environmental regulations, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities For Environmental Engineer

  • Lead environmental management compliance including air permits, hazardous waste, SWPPP, and SPCC inspections
  • Lead environmental compliance assurance program and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Support air permit compliance including record keeping and emissions reporting
  • Prepare and submit environmental reports (Tier II Chemical Inventory, TRI, waste summary)
  • Manage hazardous and industrial waste compliance assurance program
  • Oversee water pollution prevention programs
  • Perform environmental inspections and support agency interactions
  • Provide Environmental impacts training and education to employees
  • Support EHS team initiatives and responsibilities
  • Stay current on emerging Environmental regulations and communicate updates
  • Develop individual and team objectives and track progress

Requirements For Environmental Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Public Health, or Environmental-related discipline
  • 3-5 years of experience in Environmental or EHS
  • Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations
  • Experience with Tier II, hazardous waste, air emissions inventory reports
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS software applications
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Up to 15% travel between sites in TX, LA, and CA
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs unassisted
