Software Engineer, Billing

Scale is seeking entrepreneurial Software Engineers to join their Billing Platform team. In this role, you'll drive the revenue tracking and billing system for their Generative AI products. You'll get exposure to the forefront of the AI race across enterprises, startups, governments, and large tech companies. The ideal candidate is a natural entrepreneurial engineer who can take ambiguous scopes and lead execution, including coding, customer interaction, and requirement definition.

Key responsibilities include:

• Owning large new areas within the product
• Working across backend, frontend, and accounting-related systems
• Delivering high-velocity, high-quality work to engage customers
• Working across the entire product lifecycle
• Multi-tasking and learning new technologies quickly
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams

Requirements:

• 5+ years of full-time engineering experience post-graduation
• Experience in billing domain (account systems, microtransaction platforms, metered-billing)
• Proficiency in Typescript, Node, React, Next.js, and MongoDB
• Strong background in algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming
• Experience with cloud-based tooling and frameworks
• Experience scaling products at hyper-growth startups
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills

Nice to haves:

• Knowledge of software engineering best practices
• Experience with orchestration platforms like Temporal

The role offers a comprehensive compensation package including base salary, equity, and benefits such as health coverage, retirement benefits, learning and development stipend, and generous PTO. The position is hybrid, requiring 3 days per week in either San Francisco or New York City office.
