Description For Pipeline Developer (Nuke)

Scanline VFX, an award-winning leader in the visual effects industry, is seeking a Pipeline Developer (Nuke) to join their team. This role involves working with the 2D pipeline team, artists, and supervisors to solve Nuke-related issues and develop efficient workflows and tools for compositing artists.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining workflows and tools for compositing artists
  • Troubleshooting artist tool issues and developing solutions
  • Collaborating with pipeline management and team leads
  • Attending daily scrum meetings
  • Writing technical briefs and user documentation

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience writing Nuke pipeline code using Python
  • Strong communication skills
  • Talent for designing intuitive, artist-friendly workflows
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming
  • Comfortable with git and unit testing
  • Basic familiarity with Houdini and Maya
  • Experience with PyQt or PySide preferred
  • Understanding of Color Science is a plus
  • Experience with C++ and Nuke's NDK preferred

Responsibilities For Pipeline Developer (Nuke)

  • Develop and maintain efficient and creative workflows and tools for composting artists
  • Troubleshoot artist tool issues and develop effective solutions in collaboration with the pipeline team members
  • Work daily with the pipeline management team and team lead to identify and implement existing and new features
  • Attend daily scrum meetings
  • Write technical briefs and user documentation
  • Identify early areas of improvements and escalate issues as needed

Requirements For Pipeline Developer (Nuke)

Python
  • 2+ years experience writing Nuke pipeline code using Python
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming patterns
  • Comfortable with git and unit testing
  • Basic DCC familiarity with Houdini, Maya
  • Experience with PyQt or PySide preferred
  • Understanding of Color Science is a plus
  • Experience programming in C++, esp using Nuke's NDK preferred
