Responsibilities For Senior Data Center Engineer

  • Recommend and follow technical standards for data center configuration
  • Document technical configurations for datacenters and cloud architecture
  • Install and configure servers and applications to support data center infrastructure
  • Configure, monitor, and test backup/recovery systems
  • Proactively monitor data center status/health
  • Perform system upgrades and patches
  • Engage with vendors for license renewals and support contracts
  • Support system administrator personnel
  • Ensure security standards implementation
  • Set up and maintain internal/external networks
  • Maintain disaster recovery plan
  • Manage Windows server, Nimble Storage, VMware environments
  • Configure data networking and Meraki wireless systems
  • Manage Veeam backup and Palo Alto environments

Requirements For Senior Data Center Engineer

Linux
  • 7+ years professional experience as datacenter engineer
  • CompTIA Security + Certification
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows server environments
  • Experience with VMware/vCenter/vSphere
  • Knowledge of Windows Server Failover Cluster services
  • Expert understanding of LAN/WAN principles and protocols
  • Experience with firewall design and management
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or IT
  • Ability to obtain DoD security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
