Responsibilities For Systems Security Engineer
- Design, develop and implement security controls aligned with NIST SP 800-53 standards for on-premise, hybrid and cloud infrastructure
- Assess security risks and ensure compliance across servers, storage, networking, and application platforms
- Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to integrate security into system design and lifecycle management
- Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and continuous monitoring of datacenter systems and applications
- Provide security recommendations for hardware, virtualization, and access control solutions
Requirements For Systems Security Engineer
- Current active DoD security clearance
- 5+ years of experience in on-premise system security engineering or cybersecurity
- Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and datacenter security best practices
- Experience securing enterprise-grade servers, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and storage systems
- Proficiency in risk assessment, access control, and incident response for on-prem environments
- Ability to work 100% on-site at company or customer location
- Detail oriented
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- U.S. citizenship required
