Staff Software Engineer (Full stack)

We're seeking a highly experienced Staff Software Engineer (SWE) with a strong focus on Quality Engineering to lead our efforts in designing and implementing enterprise-level automation frameworks, driving strategic quality initiatives, and ensuring our software meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of native mobile enterprise-level automation frameworks and tools
• Set the strategic direction for quality engineering within Scribd
• Collaborate with product, development, and operations teams
• Act as a quality advocate across the organization
• Spearhead innovation in testing tools and frameworks
• Continuously improve and evolve the testing infrastructure
• Define and implement advanced quality metrics
• Take full ownership of the release process
• Mentor and coach senior engineers
• Serve as a strategic consultant on quality initiatives
• Oversee production incident triaging and resolution
• Drive efforts to meet automation coverage goals
• Develop processes to integrate customer feedback into testing strategy

Required Skills:

• Extensive experience with mobile automation frameworks (XCUITest for iOS, Espresso/UIAutomator for Android)
• Proficiency in Swift (iOS) and Kotlin/Java (Android)
• Experience with CI/CD tools and mobile-specific build systems
• Knowledge of cloud-based device testing platforms
• Experience with performance and load testing tools for mobile apps
• Familiarity with API testing tools
• Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with cloud data warehouses
• Proficiency in using Datadog for monitoring and observability
