Mobile SDK Platform Engineer (Android - Contract)

Seam is building a platform for software developers to connect and manage smart devices in buildings, like locks, thermostats, and intercoms. It provides a way for software applications, like Airbnb, Zillow, and WeWork, to easily interact with and control these devices across various brands and technologies, streamlining the process of building and scaling smart home and building applications.

As a Mobile SDK Platform Engineer (Android - Contract) at Seam, you will play a key role in designing Mobile SDKs and work closely with the engineering team to improve developer productivity, streamline build processes, and enhance the overall developer experience. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Android SDKs that interact with BLE and NFC, enabling IoT mobile applications across various mobile devices.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, building, and maintaining Android SDKs that interact with BLE and NFC
• Contributing to the development and optimization of the Seam API, working with Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL
• Collaborating with engineers, product managers, and designers to define requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions
• Leading testing initiatives to maintain high code quality and reliability
• Developing resources such as documentation and tutorials to support developers

The ideal candidate should have:

• 4+ years of experience in Mobile Development
• Expertise in Android app development using Kotlin
• Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and SQL
• Skills in Mobile SDK development, building pipelines, and CI/CD processes
• Proficiency in backend testing methods and tools
• A track record of enhancing development processes and productivity

Preferred qualifications include experience with BLE and NFC technologies on iOS or Android, background in growth-stage and larger companies, and interest or experience in IoT or hardware integration.
