This role is part of our Game Developer Experience team, focusing on comprehensive software monitoring for gaming platforms. You'll work on developing instrumentation that captures everything from runtime errors to performance profiling, specifically tailored for game developers. The position covers a wide range of platforms including Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox, working with popular game engines like Unreal Engine, Unity, and Godot.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in native development with C/C++, game console development, and various game engines. You'll be building tools that directly impact millions of players while collaborating with major gaming companies. The role offers an opportunity to work on open-source projects and create developer tools that are both functional and delightful to use.

Responsibilities For Game Developer Experience Engineer

  • Develop solutions to improve the stability and performance of games that run on desktop, mobile and consoles
  • Interact and collaborate with gaming companies
  • Build tools and services to support game consoles using C++ and Rust
  • Develop and maintain SDKs for game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity, custom engines)
  • Contribute to open source tools and libraries

Requirements For Game Developer Experience Engineer

Rust
  • 5+ years as a Software Engineer and/or related role (e.g. Game developer, SDK engineer)
  • Experience with native development with C and C++
  • Experience with game console development, including platforms like Sony PlayStation, Microsoft Xbox, and Nintendo Switch
  • Experience with game engines, such as Unreal Engine
  • Understanding of memory management, multi-threading, and cross-platform development
  • Good written and spoken English communication skills
