Senior Backend Engineer

We're seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Product Foundation team, which consists of two main pods: Alerts & Notification and Ecosystem. This role will focus on building and maintaining features/integrations with other SaaS services using React (TypeScript) and Django (Python) in our open-source codebase.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work on high-impact projects across the entire stack, from understanding the event ingestion pipeline to delving into search and storage systems. You'll write tests, set up monitoring and alerting, review code, mentor less-experienced engineers, and contribute to user-facing documentation.

The ideal candidate is a product-minded software engineer who values collaboration with Product and Design teams, seeks to understand systems beyond the application layer, and operates with a high level of ownership. You should be excited about diving into other teams' codebases, making improvements to developer tools, and having a direct influence on the product.

Qualifications include 6+ years of experience building user-facing web applications and APIs, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience), strong experience with React/TypeScript, and working experience with Django/Python.

Sentry offers a competitive salary range of $175,000 to $215,000, along with benefits including incentive compensation, equity grants, paid time off, and group health insurance coverage.
