Principal Machine Learning Engineer

Sezzle is seeking a highly-experienced Principal Machine Learning Engineer to join their core AI/ML team. This remote position is for candidates based in Canada. The role involves overseeing the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models that power and enhance Sezzle's financial platform. Key responsibilities include:

1. Designing and building scalable ML infrastructure on AWS
2. Collaborating with product teams to develop MVPs for AI-driven features
3. Developing monitoring and alerting frameworks for ML models
4. Supporting cross-departmental AI utilization
5. Providing production support and participating in on-call rotations
6. Scaling ML architecture to support rapid user growth
7. Mentoring team members and elevating overall team capabilities
8. Staying updated with the latest advancements in ML technologies and AWS services

The ideal candidate should have:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience
• At least 6+ years of experience in machine learning engineering
• Deep expertise in areas such as machine learning, recommendation systems, pattern recognition, or related fields
• Proficiency in Python (Golang is a plus)
• Strong familiarity with AWS cloud services
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of monitoring tools and data processing frameworks
