Responsibilities For Chief Engineer, Autonomy

  • Lead team responsible for Shield AI (Hivemind) and Department of Defense autonomy architectures
  • Assign technical objectives and make key decisions
  • Approve quality and completeness of technical output
  • Support IRAD and Department of Defense contracts
  • Be a customer facing engineering leader
  • Contribute to government contract proposal writing
  • Solve complex technical problems for UAS autonomy solutions

Requirements For Chief Engineer, Autonomy

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, and/or similar degree
  • 10+ years of industry experience in autonomy and/or UAS platforms
  • 7+ years of delivering software into production environments
  • Understanding of the full robotics autonomy stack
  • Understanding of software development processes
  • Understanding of autonomous behavior development and sensor integration
  • Experience defining technical scope and managing technical requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent leadership skills, driving a team of 6-20 engineers
  • US citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain US Security Clearance
