Shield AI is seeking a passionate and innovative Flight Test Engineer II to join their Hivemind on X Test department (HMX Test). This role is crucial in developing and testing state-of-the-art AI aircraft systems.
As a Hivemind on X Systems Test Engineer, you'll be at the epicenter of integration and testing for deploying Hivemind Software and AI Pilot on 3rd Party Platforms. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and executing integration and testing of SW and HW systems throughout the Software Development Life Cycle
- Supporting on-site flight test campaigns
- Continuously running and reviewing tests to evaluate software stability
- Creating test plans, reviewing test cases, and executing tests
- Contributing to test documentation and creating data Dashboards
- Scripting tests in Python and creating SW-based tools for flight test monitoring and debugging
- Becoming a subject-matter expert for running Hivemind tests on Software-In-The-Loop and Hardware-In-The-Loop systems
- Identifying and documenting software defects and issues
The ideal candidate should have:
- 1-2 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (or equivalent)
- Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong technical writing skills
- Experience in robotics, aerospace, or related hands-on engineering projects
- Test engineering or similar experience
- Strong planning, analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
- Passion for intelligent aircraft systems
Preferred qualifications include experience in aerospace or defense industries, running software or flight test campaigns, and familiarity with software management tools.

Responsibilities For Flight Test Engineer II
- Plan and execute integration and testing of SW and HW systems

- Drive continuous improvement in testing methodologies and processes
Requirements For Flight Test Engineer II
