Responsibilities For Senior Engineer, Autonomy

  • Lead teams at the intersection of artificial intelligence, task & motion planning, and controls
  • Architect solutions and set standards for software engineering
  • Drive strategic technical improvements and mentor other engineers
  • Integrate Shield AI autonomy products with third party systems
  • Write autonomous behaviors for varying aircraft platforms (VTOL and Fixed Wing)
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to understand customer needs and implement autonomy solutions

Requirements For Senior Engineer, Autonomy

Linux
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar degree
  • Mathematical background in linear/nonlinear control theory and autonomous systems technologies
  • Understanding of robotics technologies related to sensing, estimation, path planning, and data fusion
  • Ability to develop, benchmark, debug, and deploy software-based algorithms
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Unmanned Systems programs in the DoD or applied R&D
  • Understanding/Experience with unmanned system technologies and algorithms
  • Experience working projects with 10+ contributors
  • Comfortability within Unix environments
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance
