Description For Senior Engineer, Electrical Test and Rapid Prototype (R3102)

The company has developed Hivemind, an advanced AI pilot capable of operating various aircraft including F-16 jets, MQ-35 V-BAT, and quadcopters. With offices across San Diego, Dallas, Washington DC, and international locations, Shield AI actively supports U.S. Department of Defense operations and allies.

As a Senior Engineer in Electrical Test and Rapid Prototype, you'll join the Hardware Test Engineering team, focusing on developing test solutions for the V-BAT vehicle's hardware reliability. This role combines electrical engineering expertise with software automation, requiring skills in PCB design, Python programming, and environmental testing methodologies including HASS, ESS, and HALT testing.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $112,000 - $168,000, along with comprehensive benefits including bonus, equity, and both domestic and international relocation support. Responsibilities For Senior Engineer, Electrical Test and Rapid Prototype (R3102)

  • Own requirements gathering, design, and validation of multiple test stands for V-BAT components and subsystems
  • Design test systems for power electronics, communications, RF, and more
  • Design simple to moderately complex PCBs for test stand and device-under-test interface
  • Design test stands and test fixtures including relays, PLCs, PCBAs, harnessing
  • Create fully automated test sequences using Python
  • Contribute to and attend cross-functional design reviews
  • Advocate for design changes that result in simpler testing processes

Requirements For Senior Engineer, Electrical Test and Rapid Prototype (R3102)

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with Bachelor's degree
  • Mastery of fundamental engineering concepts including EE, Mech E, Programming, Physics, and Mathematics
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary hardware development projects
  • Demonstrated history of project ownership and delivering exceptional results
  • Experience with Python or any scripting language
  • Experience with PCB schematic and layout tools (Altium, KiCAD, Eagle)
  • Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, NX, CATIA)
