Senior Engineer, Systems Test

Shield AI is seeking a passionate and innovative Senior Engineer for Systems Test to join their Hivemind on X Test department. This role is crucial in developing comprehensive and robust testing infrastructure for the world's best AI pilot and most reliable aircraft. The position involves integrating and testing SW and HW systems for on-ground and in-flight test campaigns, with a focus on the Hivemind software ecosystem and V-BAT aircraft.

Key responsibilities include:

• Integrating and testing SW & HW systems for flight tests
• Supporting on-site flight testing with system configuration and data analysis
• Debugging during test campaigns
• Writing Python code for testing complex systems
• Creating software tools for improved flight test monitoring
• Becoming an expert in Hivemind tests on Hardware-In-The-Loop and Vehicle-In-The-Loop systems
• Running simulated flight tests and developing test plans
• Creating data dashboards and documenting software issues
• Driving continuous improvement in testing methodologies

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combinations with higher degrees)
• Proficiency in Python
• Experience in robotics or small UAS projects
• Strong analytical and debugging skills
• Passion for intelligent aircraft systems
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred qualifications include experience with small aircraft, FIRST Robotics, C++ proficiency, and familiarity with software management tools. Experience in aerospace or defense industries is a plus.
