Staff Infrastructure Engineer

Shield AI is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to lead in the development of applied artificial intelligence. The role involves engineering, deployment, provisioning, and maintenance of systems across multiple office environments in the United States and internationally. The position supports workloads in both private and public cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a senior resource on the IT Cloud & Infrastructure team
• Manage and optimize on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure)
• Configure and design Active Directory environments and Microsoft 365 solutions
• Perform capacity planning for virtual machine environments
• Monitor security and performance of infrastructure
• Implement server, storage, and backup systems with disaster recovery processes
• Lead vulnerability remediation efforts
• Author documentation for systems and processes
• Work with various network and machine operating systems
• Manage IT-related projects and participate in Agile methodologies
• Provide escalated support for operational issues
• Analyze and resolve system hardware, software, and networking issues
• Apply OS patches, upgrades, and maintain system software
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows Server administration, virtualization platforms, storage operating systems, and public cloud deployments. They should be skilled in automation, scripting, and implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions. The role requires a mix of technical expertise, leadership abilities, and effective communication skills.
