As a Staff Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge AI and robotics products. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working with a mission-driven team. You'll lead complex projects for autonomous UAV products, architecting new solutions and handling detailed design of electro-mechanical assemblies using advanced tools. The position requires collaboration with internal and external partners throughout the product development lifecycle, from prototyping to production.
The role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering, requiring expertise in mechanical design, analysis, and product development. You'll be responsible for ensuring product features meet performance, schedule, and reliability goals. The position offers competitive compensation ($127,720 - $191,580) plus additional benefits including bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits package. For international positions, additional allowances and support are provided.

Responsibilities For Staff Mechanical Design Engineer
- Own the architecture, design, and development of new products and subsystems
- Perform analysis on designs including hand calculations, CAD and FEA
- Rapidly design, prototype, and test to validate the robustness and proper performance of designs
- Lead design reviews
- Participate in engineering and pre-production product builds
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure the successful development and launch of new products
- Exemplify technical excellence and be accountable for your work
Requirements For Staff Mechanical Design Engineer
- B.S. and/or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
- 8+ years of relevant experience in mechanical structures or electro-mechanical product development
- CAD modeling experience
- Working knowledge of FEA principles
- Proficient at tolerance analysis, ANSI drawing standards, and common inspection equipment and methodology
- Familiarity with common manufacturing processes
- A demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others
